Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

“‘I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are already destroyed.  Ever since the days of your ancestors, you have scorned my decrees and failed to obey them. Now return to me, and I will return to you,’ says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”

(Malachi 3:6-7a)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Malachi)

Malachi stood up as he pointed at the man in anger. He walked into the crowd as he declared, “If you live for the God of Israel, then why do you bow down before the false gods of other nations? Can their gods answer your prayers? Do they supply all of your needs? Do you really think you can do anything you want six days out of the week, then expect the God of the Universe to bless your life because of the sacrifices you offer?
“The God of Israel declares, ‘The sacrifice that I desire is a humble heart, not a heart that is divided. I will not bless your sacrifices, if you do not come to Me in humility.’”
One of the priests pushed through the crowd and stood face to face with the prophet of God, with rage in his eyes. “Who are you to question the way we worship the Lord our God? You’re just an old fool. Why don’t you go back home? No one wants to listen to your foolishness anyway. We know whom we worship and it’s not this God of judgment you talk about.”
Malachi looked at the priest with a look of frustration. “The Lord our God declares, ‘Who are you to rebuke My prophet? I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You walk around My city, pretending to be worthy of My Holy Name, but you are unclean on the inside. Your motives are vile to Me, for you only pretend to be a follower of Mine.’”…
…Malachi stopped in the middle of the crowd, lifting his hands toward Heaven, “I’m Your servant, my God, and have followed and worshiped You my whole life. I pray that Your people will turn from their evil ways and seek You with all their heart, so that they, too, can enjoy the blessings of being Your child.”

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

Then he said, ‘don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.’

(Daniel 10:12-14)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Daniel Part 2)

As Daniel looked up, Gabriel stood before him, wearing a robe as bright as the morning snow, and around his waist hung a belt made of pure gold, reflecting the sunlight that glanced off the waters of the river as it gently flowed south toward the Taurus Mountains of Persia. His face flashed with bolts of lightning, and his eyes burned with fire. As Gabriel spoke, he roared like a multitude of angels.
Daniel’s strength left him as he fell face-first to the ground, trembling in fear. Gabriel knelt down and picked him up as he spoke softly, “Do not fear me, Daniel, for you’re precious in the eyes of God. I would have come sooner, but Satan kept me from traveling to see you. God had to send Michael the Archangel to free me from his clutches.
“Be encouraged and stay strong in the Lord, for the God of Peace has lifted you with His loving arms, giving you the strength and courage you need to withstand the fiery darts of the enemy. Walk with me now, so that I may share with you God’s warning to His people.”
As they walked down the river, Gabriel shared with Daniel God’s warning to the people of Israel. Once again, they have turned their backs on Him, but, He is a God of mercy, and He is always waiting with His arms opened wide. God always welcomes His children back home.

  Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

Daniel answered, ‘Long live the king! My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.’ The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God.”

(Daniel 6:21-23)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Daniel Part 1)

Suddenly, from Heaven, God the Father called me. “Michael, protect My servant.”
The lions got up as they slowly crept toward Daniel. I summoned a bolt of lightning from Heaven, thrusting it between Daniel and the lions. The explosion sent them all to the ground. The intensity of God’s glory continued to consume me, as the shadows from the den melted away. I stood before Daniel, still radiating from God’s majesty. He shielded his eyes as he bowed before me. “My Lord and my God,” he declared. The luster dissipated allowing him to see me more clearly. I stood there, wearing a robe as white as pure snow.
“Do not fear me, Daniel, for I’m only a servant like you. I am Michael the Archangel,” I told him. “I have been sent by the God of the Universe to shut the mouths of the lions. You’re safe in His loving arms. Because of your faithfulness, King Darius will cry out to the world that the God of the Israelites is the True and Living God.”
I got to my knees and with a smile, lifted Daniel to his feet. “Well done, Daniel. You truly are God’s faithful servant.”

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

‘Don’t be afraid!’ Elisha told him. ‘For there are more on our side than on theirs!’ Then Elisha prayed, ‘O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!’ The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

(2 Kings 6:16-17)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Elisha)

Elisha’s servant fell to his knees when he saw my mighty army of angels riding the chariots and horses of fire from Heaven. The flames from the chariots and horses devoured the morning sky, as they seared the mountain tops surrounding Elisha’s camp. Molten lava poured out of the eyes of the horses, and with every breath, smoke erupted from their nostrils, enveloping the riders. I hovered above them all, riding in God’s chariot. In my right hand, I held high the spear of the Almighty God, ready to strike the Arameans.
Elisha’s servant wept. “The horsemen and chariots of Heaven! Please help us, my God.”
Elisha got on his knees. “Do not fear my friend, for our God is always on the side of His servants. Never lose faith, for He is more powerful than anything we can ever face. Stand with me and watch God’s mighty victory, for He will hand over the Arameans to us today.”
Elisha shouted with a booming voice, “O Lord, the God of Israel, prove to the world that You’re the True and Living God by blinding the Arameans. Bring victory to Your people today.”
I thrust God’s spear toward the enemies’ camp as a blazing light pierced through the morning sky, searing the eyes of the Arameans. They shrieked with sounds of terror, as they stumbled on the ground, grasping for anything they could hold on to. Their horses, startled by the blazing light, thundered through the valley, leaving them helpless. “Hadad, our mighty god of war, please help us,” they cried, still crawling on the ground.

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire. It drove between the two men, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven. Elisha saw it and cried out, ‘My father! My father! I see the chariots and charioteers of Israel!’ And as they disappeared from sight, Elisha tore his clothes in distress.

(2 King 2:11-12)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Elijah Part 2)

When I got to Heaven, God told me to take His chariot back to earth. It was time for His faithful servant to come home.
When I stepped into the chariot, the horses and the chariot burst into flames. “Let’s go,” I shouted, as the horses galloped down the streets of gold, before launching into the galaxies.
When we made it to earth, a whirlwind ripped through the wilderness behind us as I reached out my hands, grabbing Elijah. “It’s time to go home, Elijah,” I shouted as I pulled him in. The whirlwind that had been traveling behind me picked us up and launched us back into Heaven.

I turned and watched as Elisha fell to the ground. He continued watching as we faded into the clouds. With a look of grief, Elisha tore his clothes, crying out. “My Lord and my God!”

From the throne of Heaven, Elijah stepped out of the chariot and bowed down before God and softly whispered, “My Lord and my God.”

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

“‘…Call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by setting fire to the wood is the true God!’ And all the people agreed.

(1 Kings 18:24)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Elijah Part 1)

... So the prophets of Baal prepared the sacrifice and began crying out to their god, praying he would send fire from heaven to consume their sacrifice. They danced around from morning until noon, shouting to Baal, begging him to consume their sacrifice. That’s when Elijah had some fun.
“Shout louder, for your god might be hard of hearing,” Elijah said, bringing his hand to his ear. “He might even be sitting on the toilet. Have you thought about the fact that he might be traveling? Come on, guys, your god might be asleep. Wake him up. Cry out louder.”
So the prophets of Baal shouted even louder, as Elijah fell to the ground, laughing. They cut themselves with swords and spears until their blood flowed.
“Come on guys, really? That’s got to hurt. Dance around some more, and shout even louder. I’ve got plenty of time.”
The prophets of Baal shouted even louder, while King Ahab and the rest of Israel stood at the foot of the mountain, with fear in their eyes. The prophets continued crying until the sun began to set, but Baal never responded…

…God stood from His throne and shouted, “Fire from Heaven, consume Elijah’s sacrifice.” Fire ripped through the universe as the prophets of Baal fell to the ground screaming in fear. The fire consumed Elijah’s sacrifice, along with the altar itself. Just for good measure, the fire also consumed the water that had filled the trench.
When the people of Israel saw what had happened, they fell on their faces declaring, “The God of Israel is the True and Living God!”…

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command. So the Lord said to Solomon, ‘Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates. Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son. Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.’”

(1 Kings 11:9-13)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Solomon Part 3)

... From the gates of Hell, I watched as Satan called all of his generals. “I am going to destroy Solomon,” he screamed with malice in his voice. “I will not allow the Israelites to be a beacon of light to the rest of the world. By the time I am done with Solomon, the Israelites will be an embarrassment instead.”
“How are we going to do that, Satan?” one of his generals asked. “God has made Solomon the wisest and most prosperous man on earth. Where is his weakness?”

Satan stood in disgust. “God warned him not to marry women from other countries. I will use his wives to turn his heart away from God; just watch and see.”...

...Gabriel stopped as we crossed the bridge that overlooks the River of Life. He leaned against one of the rails, before responding. “Michael, I’m frustrated just like you, but, God told us they would do this. He told us they would disobey Him.”
“I know, but, Solomon was given God’s wisdom, and he has squandered everything for his own pleasures. He has failed God.”
“What is wrong, Michael?” Startled, I turned, and there was God the Father.
Gabriel and I fell down before Him. “Why is this happening God? You’ve given Solomon everything he ever wanted, but now he’s offering sacrifices to the false gods of his wives.”
“Michael, I warned Solomon not to marry women from other countries,” God responded with sadness in His voice. “He was a great king for My people, but now that he is old, he has turned his back on Me. He has chosen to use the wisdom and prosperity that I have given him for his own pleasures. Because of his wickedness, I am going to tear his kingdom apart.”...

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

“She [Queen of Sheba] exclaimed to the king, ‘Everything I heard in my country about your achievements and wisdom is true! I didn’t believe what was said until I arrived here and saw it with my own eyes. In fact, I had not heard the half of it! Your wisdom and prosperity are far beyond what I was told.’”

(1 Kings 10:6-7)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Solomon Part 2)

... After praying, Solomon motioned the crowd to quiet down. As he was about to speak, the Queen of Sheba walked into the courtyard with her entourage. Making her way through the crowd, she knelt before him. “King Solomon, I’m Amareche, the Queen of Sheba. I bring you gifts from my people. I’ve been told by many traders that you’re the wisest man on earth. They’ve also told me that your god has blessed you with prosperity far beyond that of my own country. I’ve come to learn more about this god of yours, and see if the rumors about you are true.”

Solomon took her by the hand and with a smile; he lifted her to her feet. “You’re always welcome here, Queen of Sheba. God’s temple is available for anyone who wants to come and worship His Holy Name. We serve the True and Living God.”...

...She blushed as she stopped. “Please tell me, Solomon, how can I teach my people God’s ways? I have some good people in my country, but I also have many homeless people, as well. They would rather be begging on the streets than work for a living.”

“There will always be lazy people no matter where you live,” he responded. “They haven’t learned the lesson from the ant.”

“The ant?” she asked with a perplexing look.

He laughed. “Yes, the ant. You see, the ant doesn’t have a king or queen to make it work, yet the ant works hard throughout the summer, day in and day out, so that its colony can have enough food to survive the winter. If we don’t work as hard as the ant, destitution will ambush us as a thief in the night.”

“Well, Solomon,” she said, not being able to hold back a laugh. “I’ve never heard that analogy before. You’ve got to write that down.”

“I think I will,” Solomon responded as they both laughed for a while...

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

“‘O Lord God, please continue to keep your promise to David my father, for you have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth! Give me the wisdom and knowledge to lead them properly, for who could possibly govern this great people of yours?’ God said to Solomon, ‘Because your greatest desire is to help your people, and you did not ask for wealth, riches, fame, or even the death of your enemies or a long life, but rather you asked for wisdom and knowledge to properly govern my peopleI will certainly give you the wisdom and knowledge you requested. But I will also give you wealth, riches, and fame such as no other king has had before you or will ever have in the future!’”

(2 Chronicles 1:9-12)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Solomon Part 1)

...Solomon and the people of Israel walked up Mount Zion, as the sun pierced through the early morning sky. It was a beautiful morning. A cool breeze swept across Jerusalem, as the aroma from the flowers that scattered throughout the valley captivated their audience. The birds sang their beautiful melody as they swept through the sky, darting in and out of the valley, as they celebrated a new day. I could see deer prancing through the fields, as mountain lions bound up the steep hill, tackling each other, as they playfully tumbled through the tall grass. Life filled the valley this morning, as the people of Israel made their way up the mountain to mourn the loss of their king...

... The billowing cloud rushed through the temple, covering Solomon’s feet, as it ascended into the midst of the crowd. The people of Israel had a look of astonishment and fear as they bowed their heads, shielding their faces from the presence of God. You couldn’t even see them anymore, for the cloud had completely enveloped them. Solomon stood there in the midst of the cloud, stretching his hands toward Heaven.
“You promised my father that I would build this temple for You, and we praise You for allowing us to complete it. You’ve also promised that if we faithfully follow You, the throne of David will always be filled by one of Your people.”

As the cloud began to dissipate, Solomon walked down the steps of the temple into the midst of the crowd. “Please hear us from Your throne in Heaven, as we humbly call out to You for forgiveness. We know that You’re the God of Mercy. Help us to always trust in Your unfailing love.

“I pray that we’ll be a beacon of light to the world so they too can come and worship You. In Your wisdom, You made the Court of Nations the largest court in Your temple. I pledge to You today that as long as I’m king, we’ll never shut the doors of Your temple on anyone who wishes to worship Your Holy Name!...

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just.”

(Psalm 51:1-4)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of David Part 3)

... Pointing at David, Nathan announced, “‘You’re that man!’ The God of Heaven’s Armies declares; ‘I’ve given you everything that I’ve promised you. You have become King of all Israel. I protected you from Saul and gave you all of his belongings. And if you wanted more, I would have given it to you, as well.
“‘So why have you despised Me and done such evil in My sight? Why did you take Uriah’s wife to be your own? Why did you have Uriah murdered by the hands of the Ammonites?
“‘David, because of your actions, your family will live by the sword. Your own children will rebel against you. What you did in secret, I will do to you in public for all to see,’ declares the God of Israel.”
David crumbled to the ground, weeping bitterly. He looked up to Nathan and cried, “I’ve sinned against, my God.”
Nathan walked over to David. As he knelt down, he reassured David of God’s love for him. “The God of Heaven’s Armies have forgiven you. You won’t die because of your sins, but because of your rebellion against Him, the child will.”
Nathan got up and immediately returned to his home. David continued weeping as he begged God to spare the life of his child. No matter what his servants tried to do, they couldn’t comfort him...

But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’”

(Acts 13:22)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of David Part 2)

From Heaven, I watched in horror as Saul stood from his throne and hurled his spear at David. David ducked just in time as the spear barely missed his ear, embedding deep into the wall behind him. “What are you doing, father?” Jonathan cried out. “David has done nothing to deserve your wrath.”

“Jonathan, I know you want David to sit on my throne,” Saul shouted in anger. “You’re the heir of my kingdom, not David. Why don’t you start acting like it?”…

… Arrows penetrated the sky, casting a shadow on the valley of Gilboa. Saul and Jonathan collapsed to the ground as arrows pierced through their armor. Saul looked over and saw Jonathan lying dead on the ground. “My son, what have I done?”
Saul cried out with a voice that echoed throughout the valley before thrusting his spear into his own heart. Crawling over to Jonathan, he burst into tears. “I’ve failed you, my son. I’ve failed you.”...

...God called out to David, with compassion in His voice. “David, My servant, if you follow Me, I will always show you the way. Go now to the town of Hebron. The people of Judah are now ready to anoint you their king.”
David looked up to Heaven, raising his hands in praise, as he shouted. “Thank You, Lord, for hearing the prayer of Your servant. I love You, my God, for You’re my rock and my fortress in times of trouble. You’ve defeated my enemies, and I’ll shout Your praises to the nations, for You’re worthy of all my praise. I’ll lead Your people to follow and worship You.”...

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

David replied to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel! And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!’”

(1 Samuel 17:45-47)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of David Part I)

…David immediately ran toward Goliath, grabbing a stone from his bag. With his sling, he hurled a stone at Goliath’s head. The stone embedded deeply into the giant’s forehead as he crumbled to the ground. The force of Goliath’s fall made the whole valley tremble.
David ran over and grabbed Goliath’s sword and plunged it deep into the heart of the giant. He then raised the sword above his head and with all of his might, severed Goliath’s head. David grabbed the head of Goliath and raised it high in victory…

…As the triumphant soldiers returned home, women from the towns surrounding Israel met them along the way, filling both sides of the street. They sang praises to both King Saul and David. “Saul killed his thousands and David his ten thousand,” they shouted with praise.
When Saul heard them, anger filled his eyes as he gazed with disdain at the women singing along the roadside. “How dare you give more glory to David?” he blurted out. “I’m the king of Israel, not David. What gives you the right to shout praises to him?”
“Who do they think they are?” Saul shouted to one of his generals. “I’ll kill David, do you hear me? I will kill him. I’m the king of Israel, not David,” as he rushed through the crowd on his horse, knocking over some of the women along the way. Rage filled his eyes, as he continued rushing through the crowd, disappearing into the distance.

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the Lord opened up a path through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land. So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!”

(Exodus 14:21-22)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Moses Part III)

I watched as Satan made his way through Pharaoh’s palace. He found Pharaoh in his son’s room, still weeping. His wife was still rocking back and forth, holding her son’s lifeless body. Satan knelt behind him and whispered in his ear, “You are not going to let them get by with this are you? Their God has just killed your son. You need to make them pay for what He has done.”

“I don’t know what to do,” Pharaoh whispered as he continued to weep. “I’ve used everything at my disposal to defeat their god.”

“That is where you are wrong,” Satan responded. “Send your army out and crush the Israelites. They are traveling through the wilderness toward the Red Sea. You can trap them there. You have the greatest army on earth! What are you waiting for?”…
…“We’ve got to get out of here,” the soldiers shouted. “The God of Israel is the True and Living God. He’s fighting the battle for them. We’re all going to die!”
I watched as Pharaoh fell to his knees, crying out with a look of despair. “I can’t defeat the God of Israel. Osiris, why did you turn your back on us?” He sprawled on the seashore, with a look of defeat.
As the sun began to rise, I looked to Heaven as God stood from His throne. “Moses, raise your staff over the sea. Watch and see as the waters collapse and destroy the Egyptian army.”
Moses raised his staff over the sea. The walls of water engulfed the Egyptian army, sending them hopelessly into the depths of the sea. Pharaoh lifted his head as he heard the roars of celebration coming from the Israeli camp on the other side of the sea…

Then the Lord told Moses, ‘Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh. When he feels the force of my strong hand, he will let the people go. In fact, he will force them to leave his land!’”
(Exodus 6:1)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Moses Part II)

…I watched as Moses and Aaron stood before the throne of Pharaoh. I could see Satan making his way through the crowd disguised as Pharaoh’s cupbearer. He handed Pharaoh a cup of wine then stood behind him with an evil grin.
“So, Moses, why are you here?” Pharaoh asked flippantly.
As Aaron took a step forward, Satan began whispering into Pharaoh’s ear. Aaron declared, “The God of Israel desires that we go on a three day journey to offer sacrifices to Him. He wants us to honor Him with a celebration.”
“Oh, really,” Pharaoh interrupted. “Who is this god of Israel that you speak of? Why should I listen to him? The two of you have caused quite a commotion since you’ve come here today. Why don’t you leave your people alone and go back home before I make things worse for them. Guards, get them out of my sight.”
As they left the palace, Aaron whispered. “Don’t worry, Moses, God told us this would happen. Our people will be set free and the Egyptians will be convinced that our God is the True and Living God.”
Pharaoh called out to one of his slave drivers. “Make it harder for the Israelites to complete their work. Beat them if you have to. I want them to suffer so they’ll beg Moses and Aaron to leave.” Satan smiled as he disappeared into the shadows of Pharaoh’s palace…

One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up.”
(Exodus 3:1-2)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Moses Part I)

…Moses shook his head with a look of disbelief. “God, I’m unworthy to speak for You. I can’t do what You ask.”

With anger in His voice, Jesus responded, “Moses!”

The mountain began to shake uncontrollably, ripping trees from their roots, as boulders cascaded down the mountain all around Moses. Moses covered his head as Jesus continued speaking. “I have prepared you for this moment, but you are doubting Me? How dare you doubt My ability to use you? Because of your unbelief, I will send your brother Aaron to speak for you on My behalf. I will give him a blessing, not you. Now go with Aaron to Egypt. It is time to set My people free.”…

…I looked into the depths of Hell, as Satan looked up to Heaven. “So God, you want to set your people free?” he blurted out. “They are pitiful. What a great nation you have! Look at God’s mighty nation,” he screamed with sarcasm. “They are now servants of Egypt. You do not have control over them, and You never will. They are my nation now,” Satan blurted out.
Satan began pacing back and forth as he shook his finger toward Heaven with a look of rage. “I will convince the Pharaoh of Egypt to punish Your people. They will beg Moses to leave them alone. Your people will rather die in Egypt than to follow Your servant Moses. I will destroy them all. They will never see Your Promised Land. Do You hear me God? They will never see Your precious Promised Land.”…

Quest for God's Own Heart
The Old Testament
Through the Eyes of Michael the Archangel

“Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. ‘Abraham!’ God called. ‘Yes,’ he replied. ‘Here I am.’ ‘Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.’”
(Genesis 22:1-2)

(Michael the Archangel retelling the story of Abraham Part III)

God the Father and Jesus stood from their thrones. Compassion filled the Father’s eyes as He spoke. “Lift your eyes My friends. I am going to Abraham to give him one final test. The world will know that Abraham is My faithful servant. They will see that he trusts only Me.”
After God spoke, a flash of light burst through Heaven, sending us to the ground. When I was finally able to look up, God the Father was gone.
Jesus smiled and walked over to me. “Get up, Michael. I want you to watch Our faithful servant, Abraham. You will see through his obedience that his heart is completely Ours. Because of his faithfulness, We will bless him beyond what you can ever imagine. For the rest of eternity, he will be called Father Abraham.”…

…“What are you doing, father? Where is the sacrifice?” Isaac struggled to get up, but, Abraham was too strong. “Father, what are you doing?” he cried out once again, as he continued struggling.
“Isaac, my son, have faith in God. He will provide.” Abraham wept as he looked toward Heaven. “I’m here, my God. Please, my God, please.” Abraham slowly took the knife out of his pocket and lifted it over his head. Tears streamed down his cheeks, dripping on his son’s chest.
“Father, no,” Isaac cried out as he struggled to take the knife from his father.
One more time, Abraham looked up toward Heaven, the tears still streaming. “Father, please.” Suddenly Jesus called out to him in a voice that echoed throughout the universe, “Abraham! Abraham!”
Abraham dropped the knife and fell to the ground in exhaustion. With relief in his voice, Abraham slowly looked up, “Yes, my God, I’m here.”
“Don’t touch your son, Isaac. I now know you truly fear Me, for you were willing to give up your son, Isaac for Me. You have shown your faithfulness to Me.”…

God was testing Abraham to see if he truly trusted Him. He wanted to know if Abraham was resting on the promises of his son Isaac or on God Himself.
God wants us to trust Him in every area of our lives. He wants us to rely on Him. How is your walk with God? Do you trust Him in every area of your life? Abraham passed the test; would you?
